White on Bright 11 from Virtual Quilter

Stunning.

Using white quilting thread is easy when making a real quilt, but saving quilting motifs in Electric Quilt was a challenge, until I saved two copies of the motif, one white thread looks blank, but is ready to use, but I also save them with a coloured thread. The only trick is to remember which colour you have used for the first copy, and always keep them in that order..

I would use this idea with a softer background for me to live with everyday, but might use it for a small project to use in a dull corner ...

Red and Green 39, 40 from Virtual Quilter

Very formal, but also cheerful for Christmas

A little bit more colour and it is more cheerful!

Annie Clover’s Christmas Quilts 15, 16 from Virtual Quilter

Love the first design! The colours are great, the quilting is great … etc.

The border could perhaps be more ornate, but our bedroom is rather small and so the border is not really visible so a plain border would be fine in that room.

Love the second design too.

A Spoonful of Christmas OP 11, 12 from Virtual Quilter

Love the different colour backgrounds. They add a whole new dimension to the designs.

From now until Christmas day you will get a double dose of virtual quilt designs. Hope you enjoy seeing them, and have a wonderful real life Christmas.

Love the second design too, but I think the first one id my favourite of these two.

Old German Christmas 17, 18 from Virtual Quilter

Interesting design for any time of the year.

The second design also good for anytime, though I would change the colours to spring colours.

Kelly’s Custom Quilts 37, 38 from Virtual Quilter

One of the most interesting things I found through playing with Electric Quilt is using blocks as quilt settings.

The most limiting part of the process was the number of suitable blocks made up of squares and rectangles, but that is easily solved by drawing blocks with just right angles. Vertical and horizontal straight lines only.

After a very short time of drawing the basic blocks I had a collection of 50 plus blocks, most of which would probably not make great blocks, but just might work to make some very interesting quilt layouts

Aunt Flo’s Quilt 35, 36 from Virtual Quilter

LOVE IT!

If I had been a quilter before Aunty Flo passed away, this is the quilt I would have made for her.

Normally I would have said the second design is pretty, but it is very ordinary compared to the first.

Lovin’ Spoonful in the Pink 17, 18 from Virtual Quilter

Regimental was the word that popped into my head when I looked at the design above, but then I thought that these were not great colours for any regiment to be wearing anywhere but on a parade ground.

Nothing regimental about the colouring now … very dainty!

Fig Jam 37, 38 from Virtual Quilter

I have loved playing with this project file, and modifying the blocks to fit crazy ideas.

I think this project has served it’s purpose, and I certainly can not see anybody, including me, want to have fig jam all over a bed, so now i have shared all the designs the project file is going into retirement, though a little idea is trying to break through concerning a wall hanging to go in the kitchen where I make my fig jam.

Or perhaps a tablecloth!

I did say the project file is going into retirement, not the bin!

Fiddlebob Quilt 17, 18 from Virtual Quilter

Very interesting design with a lot to like about it, including the quilting motif.

I love the central part of the second design, but not really impressed with the outer corners.

Patricia’s Patches OP 7, 8 from Virtual Quilter

I love the first design!

This project file could almost double as a Christmas collection with the red, green and gold colour scheme.

Super 7s 69, 70 from Virtual Quilter

Love it!

Pointy pieced blocks are not my favourite design feature, but add a few curves, and some applique inspired quilting motifs, and an applique border and I love it!

I like the second design, including the pieced borders. I guess the quilting motifs help!

White on Bright 9, 10 from Virtual Quilter

Something to brighten up the day, and drop a hint to those in charge of the weather that spring has sprung, and we expect a sunny day or tow before the end of the month.

These designs would save a lot of anguish about what fabric choice. First select white, then grab a darker colour!

The local sporting colours where I live now are red and white, my home team when I was growing up wore blue and white, my Dad’s favourite state team was black and white, it would depend on who I was making the quilt for.

Tiled Applications 9 from Virtual Quilter

Dainty and subdued, nice choice for a restful look in a bedroom.

I like the second design best of these two.

I would really like to change the title of this project file, but have no idea what to change it to. All suggestions will be considered.

Aunt Flo’s Quilt 33, 34 from Virtual Quilter

Most of the quilts I have made are sampler album quilts, so I don’t have to make heaps of identical blocks, and they can be a mixture of pieced and and applique blocks, but I love the design above.

I would probably fall in love with it every time I walked into our bedroom, but would be bored stiff making it!

More pieced blocks in the second would make it quicker to put together, but I like more applique in the mix than this one has.

Patched and Pieced 41, 42 from Virtual Quilter

Love the first design, and think it would look great in pretty colours, bright colours … any colours … providing the contrast is right.

Slightly more masculine than the first, and I like it.
